Consulting Program Officer
Betsy Fader

Betsy Fader, Consulting Program Officer, began working with the RHNHFF Global Program in January 2023 to support the development of new initiatives, focusing initially on issues at the intersection of youth/environment and mental health.  Betsy is based in New York City, where she has had worked in the philanthropic sector for nearly 25 years.  Prior to her work with the RHNHFF, she served as Vice President for Programs at the Surdna Foundation; as Director for Strategic Planning and New Programs at the Helmsley Charitable Trust; and as Chief Program Officer at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.  In these roles, and as a consultant to other foundations, her work has focused on foundation best practices (evaluation and learning, governance, transparency) and programmatically in the areas of healthy child development, biomedical research infrastructure, and adolescent mental health, among other areas. Prior to her work in philanthropy, Betsy served as Executive Director of a national, educational nonprofit organization focused on issues at the intersection of science, technology and society.
