The Foundation deepens intercultural awareness, fosters new connections, and sparks diverse creative expression through support for arts and culture projects.
The Foundation was an early supporter of contemporary and traditional Chinese art programs. The programs it funded between 2007 and 2023 aimed to engage broad audiences and improve mutual understanding across cultures. Encouraged by the increased number of funders entering this space, the Foundation is now primarily focusing on supporting projects that tell the story of Chinese diasporas through its Arts and Chinese Heritage grants.
To create direct and meaningful engagement with Buddhist art for a broader audience, the Foundation invests in the preservation of Buddhist heritage and related research resources, Buddhist art for education, public programs, and exhibitions. The Foundation provides grants to facilitate collaboration between museums and academia, advancement of scholarship, creative solutions and technologies that enhance audience engagement, and sharing of intellectual assets, data, and learning.
The Foundation is exploring new grantmaking in the arts to support the research and development of projects centered on telling the rich history of Chinese diasporas around the world.
