The Wing Luke Museum focuses on the dynamic history, cultures, and art of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders through storytelling in their own voices. This grant supports development and implementation of a community-based process to develop a Master Art Plan for public art related to the significant stories of the historic sites in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District. These stories are critical for understanding and highlighting the resilience of Chinese American pioneers in the wake of the Chinese Exclusion Act and housing discrimination in Seattle.
