Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation seeks a part-time ASSOCIATE PROGRAM OFFICER, working in a flexible, consulting arrangement as part of a global team to develop grants and manage relationships with grantees. The C2i ASSOCIATE PROGRAM OFFICER will:

 Report to and work with the DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS (based in North America) to manage a growing portfolio of grants in the Foundation’s Contemplation, Insight, and Impact (C2i) program—a grantmaking area that focuses on the use of contemplative and wellbeing practices to improve performance and outcomes in the nonprofit sector.

• Contribute actively as a member of a small, global team and be willing to work across different grantmaking portfolios and issue areas when in collaboration with C2i.

The Foundation and its program teams operate virtually with team members based in North America, Europe, and Asia. The majority of grantees in C2i  are in North America and Europe. While this position is geographically flexible, the candidate must be available and working during North American time zone hours.

 The ASSOCIATE PROGRAM OFFICER will:.

• Have 5-10 years’ experience in the nonprofit social change sector, as a grantee with funder engagement experience, and/or developing or managing a philanthropic grants portfolio, including grants monitoring and assessment, organizational strengthening, and capacity building. Experience working in family philanthropy is a plus.
• Have personal commitment and experience with contemplative, wellbeing, and/or mindfulness practices.
• Be an excellent writer in English and a skilled communicator.
• Be a strategic thinker with a learning focus.
• Serve as a thought partner to the team and to grantees (e.g., share resources and provide support beyond grant dollars).

Successful candidates will:

• Have interest and respect for contemplative and wellbeing practices, and the notion of interconnectedness – all core to the Foundation’s values.
• Have an interest in learning about and seeing the connections among the various other grantmaking programs and initiatives that the Foundation funds as they relate to and support C2i (e.g., environment, youth).
• Be flexible and comfortable working in a small virtual organization with a broad and evolving philanthropic mandate.
• Be inspired to work across issues, cultures, geographies, and global time zones.
• Have a collaborative working style and strong management and organizational development skills.
• Have an advanced degree in the social sciences or humanities.
• Have a good sense of humor and a willingness to discuss ideas, solve problems, and add creative energy to the team and to the future direction of the organization.
• Have the ability to cultivate trust and positive relationships.
• Have the ability to connect with diverse groups of people and have a high degree of intercultural understanding/adeptness and flexibility.
